WHEN AN AGENT SIGNS FOR THE OWNER AT AN AHA RECOGNIZED COMPETITION, BOTH THE OWNER AND AGENT MUST BE MEMBERS OF AHA OR PAY THE SINGLE EVENT MEMBERSHIP.
SINGLE EVENT MEMBERSHIP IS NOT ACCEPTABLE AT AHA REGIONAL OR NATIONAL COMPETITIONS.
EXHIBITORS IN WALK-TROT CLASSES ARE EXEMPT FROM AHA MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS AT QUALIFYING COMPETITIONS, BUT MUST HAVE AN AHA MEMBERSHIP WITH COMPETITION CARD AT REGIONAL AND NATIONAL COMPETITIONS.

PLEASE NOTE WHEN FILLING OUT ENTRIES AHA requires that we print the AHA class code in the class schedule. The AHA code is the number immediately preceding the class name. When entering a class use the class number NOT the AHA code.

ENTRIES-ALL ENTRIES MUST BE ON THE OFFICIAL ENTRY FORM OF THE SHOW please make copies as needed as only entries submitted on the official entry form will be accepted. A CHECK IN FULL for entry fees and stall fees must accompany entry blank or entries will not be accepted. NO HORSE SHOULD BE ENTERED ON MORE THAN ONE ENTRY FORM. The entry blank must be complete in every detail, including copies of all cards and registration papers. It is the responsibility of the exhibitor to make sure the entry blank is complete and correct-failure to provide correct numbers and horse registration and owner/exhibitor names as they appear on the AHA membership card may cause the record of wins to not be properly credited. The show committee reserves the right to return any incomplete entry blank. A HORSE MUST BE ENTERED IN THE NAME OF THE LEGAL OWNER. PLEASE NOTE: Exhibitors sharing stalls, horse’s entry fees, etc – we cannot take partial payment, the owner of the horse will be billed for all stalls and classes. No stall will be allotted unless accompanied by a check in full for entry fees and stall fees. ENTRY FORMS MUST INCLUDE copies of both sides of horse registration papers, proof of ownership, USEF, AHA and USDF membership cards for every rider, driver, trainer, handler, and owner, entries received without any of the previous cards will be charged the non-member fees, plus a negative Coggins within 12 months of show for each horse entered. All out of state must also present a HEALTH CERTIFICATE issued no more than 30 days prior to the show. In the case of a sale or lease, it is required that a contract of the sale or lease, or statement from the owner be submitted with the copy of the registration papers (open classes only-Amateur Owners see below).
THERE WILL be a service charge of $50.00 added to the amount of each non-negotiable check/CC received. SCRATCHES: THERE ARE NO REFUNDS ON SCRATCHES. EXCEPTION: AN EVEN EXCHANGE ON THE SAME ADD/SCRATCH SHEET ie an add and scratch. In the case where a horse has been entered and not shown, class fees will be forfeited. CHECKOUT: All competitors are required to checkout at the show office before leaving the show, unless Express Check Out has been requested. In the final accounting for the show if any errors have been found, bills will be mailed and/or refunds sent. Anyone failing to check out with the show secretary will be accessed a $35 fee and billed accordingly, and will forfeit all refunds.
ANY EXHIBITOR/HORSE GOING INTO A CLASS THAT HAS NOT BEEN ENTERED ON THE ENTRY BLANK OR ADDED ON AN ADD/SCRATCH SHEET WILL ACCESSED A FEE OF $20 PER CLASS NOT ENTERED
IF FOR ANY REASON YOU WISH TO CANCEL YOUR ENTRIES BEFORE THE CLOSING DATE OF EITHER SHOW, ALL FEES WILL BE REFUNDED. REFUNDS: MAIN RING PLEASURE CLASSES; entry fees only, minus the office fee & stall fees, will be made upon presentation of a veterinarian’s certificate Before the Start of the show. After the start of the show no money will be refunded (exception horses deemed not able to show by the show veterinarian may be entitled to a refund of the remaining class entry fees only) REFUNDS: WORKING HUNTER, SPORT HORSE, DRESSAGE; no refunds after closing date for any reason. Refunds mailed after the show. Post entries should be made by the CLOSE OF THE SESSION PREVIOUS to the one in which the class is listed. After that at the discretion of the show secretary.
STALLS: stalls will be available starting on Thursday preceding the show. Anyone arriving before noon the Thursday will be considered on Early arrival by the Horse Park and charged accordingly. Early arrivals will be charged $15.00 per stall, but prior arrangements MUST be made through the show secretary. ABSOLUTELY NO ARRIVALS BEFORE NOON ON WEDNESDAY (rings will not be prepared, early arrival is for stabling only)
WORKING HUNTER – HORSES 14.2 & UNDER WILL BE MEASURED 7:30 am – 8:00 am, FRIDAY and SATURDAY at the farriers shed. HORSES COMPETING IN HUNTERS 14.2 & UNDER CLASSES ARE REQUIRED TO HAVE A USEF HORSE MEASUREMENT CARD OR A USEF MEASUREMENT FORM ISSUED BY THE FEDERATION, MEASUREMENTS MUST BE CONDUCTED AT ARABIAN COMPETITIONS IN ACCORDANCE WITH CHAPTER 5. HUNTER/JUMPER MEASUREMENTS CARDS (USEF pony cards) ARE ACCEPTED AT ARABIAN RESTRICTED COMPETITIONS. WORKING HUNTER: IN ORDER TO COMPETE IN THE HUNTER UNDER SADDLE CLASSES A HORSE MUST HAVE COMPETED IN AT LEAST ONE HUNTER OVER FENCES CLASS IN THAT DIVISION IE Modified Hunter A.
POST ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED AT FEES AS SPECIFIED ON THE FEE SCHEDULE. ALL ENTRIES AFTER CLOSING OF SHOWS WILL BE POST ENTRIES. IF FOR ANY REASON YOU WISH TO CANCEL YOUR ENTRIES BEFORE THE CLOSING DATE OF ANY SHOW ALL FEES WILL BE REFUNDED. See above regarding refunds. 275+ stalls all with doors and in permanent buildings. NO BEDDING IS PROVIDED. Bedding can be purchased on the grounds or pre order on the entry blank through the show secretary at market price per bale. (straw is not allowed, anyone using straw will be assessed a $50 fee per stall) Show management reserves the right to limit tack stalls. Hay and grain are NOT available on the grounds but is available within 3 miles. MANURE must be dumped in designated areas ONLY anyone found dumping into empty stalls, undesignated areas or on the grass will pay an additional fee
EXHIBITORS PLEASE NOTE: HORSE PARK OF NEW JERSEY REQUIRES THAT ALL HORSES MUST BE REMOVED FROM THE GROUNDS WITHIN 1 HOUR OF THE END OF THE LAST CLASS, UNLESS PRIOR ARRANGEMENTS HAVE BEEN MADE WITH THE SHOW OFFICE.
PLEASE NOTE: AS OF 1/1/06 ALL EXHIBITORS /OWNERS /TRAINERS/ HANDLERS MUST POSSESS AN AHA COMPETITION CARD TO COMPETE.
Any owner, trainer, rider, driver or halter handler who exhibits horses in the show ring or signs the entry form as a responsible person for any individual’s horses at the show must be a member of AHA and have a current COMPETITION CARD or pay the Single Event fee of $35.00.
PLEASE NOTE: ALL AMATEURS MUST HAVE AN USEF AMATEUR CARD. NON MEMBER AMATEUR CARDS ARE NO LONG AVAILABLE
SIGNATURES: EVERY EXHIBITOR, RIDER, DRIVER, HANDLER, COACH AND TRAINER OR HIS/HER AGENT(S) MUST SIGN THE ENTRY BLANK. IN THE CASE OF A RIDER, DRIVER OR HANDLER UNDER THE AGE OF 18, HIS/HER PARENT OR GUARDIAN, OR IF NOT AVAILABLE, THE TRAINER, MUST SIGN THE ENTRY BLANK ON THE MINOR’S BEHALF. IF ANY OF THE ABOVE PERSONS FAILS TO DO SO, HIS/HER FIRST ENTRANCE INTO THE RING AS AN EXHIBITOR, RIDER, DRIVER OR HANDLER, COACH SHALL BE CONSTRUED AS HIS/HER ACCEPTANCE OF THE RULES OF THE COMPETITION INVOLVED AND THE USEF AND SHALL IPSO FACTO RENDER HIM/HER SUBJECT TO SAID RULES. UPON THE FAILURE OF AN OWNER, TRAINER, RIDER, DRIVER, HANDLER, COACH OR AGENT(S), OR PARENT OR GUARDIAN OR TRAINER OF A MINOR RIDER, DRIVER, OR HANDLER, TO SIGN AN ENTRY BLANK AS REQUIRED, AND UPON CONFIRMATION OF ANY SUCH VIOLATION(S) BY THE STEWARD OR SECRETARY OF THE COMPETITION, SUCH PERSON(S) SHALL BE SUBJECT TO AN AUTOMATIC FINE OF $250 IMPOSED FOR EACH SUCH VIOLATION.
ATTENTION ALL RIDERS/HANDLERS MUST SIGN THE ENTRY BLANK AND PROVIDE THEIR ADDRESS. THIS INCLUDES WALK/TROT. ALL RIDERS 19 & UNDER MUST ALSO INCLUDE THEIR DATE OF BIRTH. SIGNATURE OF PARENT OR GUARDIAN ONLY, MINORS CANNOT SIGN.
NOTICE as of December 1, 1999 horses show in any OWNER class must be registered in the name of the competitor or a member of the competitor’s family, as defined by the current USEF rule book. The sale of a horse does not eliminate this registration requirement. Contracts of sale and/or bill of sale will not be accepted.
CALL FOR CLASSES as a courtesy to our exhibitors, the public address system will be used to make barn calls if possible, HOWEVER, exhibitors are responsible for seeing that entries reach the gate on time and should not rely on the sound system, classes will be called promptly and the two-minute gate will be enforced.
ALL EXHIBITORS MUST CHECK IN WITH THE PADDOCK MASTER
REGISTRY REQUIREMENTS: Horses shown in the Arabian division must have been issued a certificate of registration from the Arabian Horse Registry of America, Inc. and/or the Canadian Arabian Horse Registry or, if under one year of age, be eligible for registry, and registration applied for and must be entered under their full registered name. Horses shown in the Half-Arabian section must have been issued a certificate of registration from the Arabian Horse Association in the Half Arabian or the Anglo-Arabian Registry or have been issued an Arabian Horse Association (Canadian Partbred Arabian Register) CPAR PERMIT or if under one year of age, be eligible for registry and registration applied for and must be entered under their full registered name.
SUBSTITUTIONS: No substitutions of horses or classes will be allowed. Entry fees will be forfeited when horses are entered and not shown. REFUSAL OF ENTRIES: the show committee reserves the right to itself of declining to receive any entry, and to return any entry fee and/or stable charges before or during the show, without being liable for compensation. DISQUALIFICATION: If it is ascertained that any exhibitor has made or caused to be made any false statement in regard to any animal or article exhibited, or if any exhibitor shall attempt to interfere with the judges in the performance of their duties, he or she shall be excluded from competing or exhibiting. Exhibitors are warned that any act of discourtesy or disobedience to the officials on the part of the owner, groom, rider, or driver will disqualify the horse from adjudication. The management reserves the right to remove any groom, horse, rider or driver from the show without being liable to compensation or damages.
MAIN RING HALTER: The in-ring procedure will be used at all NJHAHA Shows, and the comparative scoring system will be used (no score cards) STALLIONS: Stallions may be shown by Ladies or Junior exhibitors in any class except Walk Trot, Showmanship and Lead Line.
SHOWING OUT OF THE TRAILER: Exhibitors showing out of the trailer assume all risks and liability in doing so. Horses may not be left unattended.
DOGS: Dogs will not be permitted on the show grounds UNLESS RESTRAINED ON A LEASH and then only providing they do not cause a disturbance. Show management reserves the right to evict any dog from the show grounds.
FOOD: Food will be available on the grounds.
RINGS: Footing in all arenas: Sand/Stone Dust mix. East Ring, West Ring & Indoor 150×300. Hunter Ring 190×360, Practice ring 140×80, Back practice ring 66×198.
SCHEDULE: The committee reserves the right to combine or cancel classes or to change the order of showing. If a class is cancelled, entry fees will be refunded.
CAMPERS: Are reserved on a first-come first-served basis. The cost will be $40 per night and includes water and electric. Dump station available. No tent’s allowed per Horse Park.
UNAUTHORIZED HORSES AND ANIMALS ON SHOW GROUNDS: Horses and other hoofed animals not entered in the show will not be allowed on the show grounds. Owners/agents will be charged $500 per unauthorized horse and said horses(s) must be removed from the grounds.
Exception:
Schooling horses are allowed with a signed entry blank waiver and a fee $25.00 EXCESSIVE USE OF SHIPS OR ANY OTHER CRUEL TREATMENT TO ANIMALS WILL NOT BE PERMITTED IN THE SHOW RING OR ON THE SHOW GROUNDS AND WILL BE REASON FOR DISQUALIFICATION. JUDGES MUST EXCUSE FROM THE RING, ANY HORSE SHOWN AT HALTER THAT POSSESSES A WHIP MARK (WELT) ON ANY PORTION OF THE HORSE. A WHIP MARK OR WELT IS AN INFLAMMATION OF SKIN AND SUBCUTANEOUS TISSUE RESULTING IN A SWELLING AND IN EXTREME CASES IS AN ABRASION OR LACERATION. THE CARDINAL SIGNS OF INFLAMMATION INCLUDE HEAT, PAIN (SENSITIVITY TO PALPATION) AND SWELLING. THE JUDGE(S)’ FINDING OF FACT WITH RESPECT TO THE PRESENCE OR ABSENCE OF A WHIP MARK (WELT) EVIDENT DURING A CLASS SHALL BE FINAL AND NO APPEAL MAY BE TAKEN THEREON. THE JUDGE(S) SHALL MAKE
WRITTEN FINDINGS OF FACT WHICH SHALL BE DELIVERED TO THE USEF STEWARD WITH RESPECT TO ANY HORSE EXCUSED UNDER THIS RULE.
PROTECTIVE HEADGEAR: except as may otherwise be mandated by local law, all juniors riding in Hunter, Jumper, and Hunter Seat Equitation sections must wear properly fitting protective headgear while riding anywhere on the competition grounds, which passes or surpasses ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials) SEI (Safety Equipment Institute) standards for equestrian use and carries the SEI tag. Harness must be secured and properly fitted. Any rider violating this rule at any time must immediately be prohibited from further riding until his headgear is properly in place. Adults are encouraged to comply with this rule, however, it is not mandatory. Except as may otherwise be mandated by local law, the Federation strongly encourages all riders, while riding anywhere on the competition grounds, to wear protective headgear with harness secured which passes or surpasses ASTM/SEI standards for equestrian use and carries the SEI tag. It is the responsibility of the rider, or the parent or guardian or trainer of the junior exhibitor to see to it that the headgear warn complies with appropriate safety standards for protective headgear intended for equestrian use, and is properly fitted and in good condition, and the Federation, Show Committee, Show Manager, Show Secretary and Licensed Officials are not responsible for checking headgear worn for such compliance.
MOTORIZED VEHICLE STATEMENT:
Minors who do not have a valid driver’s license which allows them to operate a motorized vehicle in the state in which they reside will not be permitted to operate a motorized vehicle of any kind, including, but not limited to, golf carts, motorcycles, scooters, or farm utility vehicles, on the competition grounds of licensed competitions. Minors who have a valid temporary license may operate the above described motorized vehicles as long as they are accompanied by an adult with a valid driver’s license. The parent(s0 legal guardian(S), or individual who signs the entry blank as a parent or guardian of a minor operating a motorized vehicle in violation of this rule are solely responsible for any damages, claims, losses of actions resulting from that operation. Violations of this rule will be for sanctions against the parent(s), guardian(s) and/or trainers(s) who are responsible for the child committing the offense. Penalties may include exclusion of the child, parent(s) , guardian(s), and/or trainers(s)from competitions grounds for the remainder of the competition and charges being filed against any of the above individuals in accordance with Chapter 6. Wheelchairs and other mobility assistance devices for individuals with disabilities ae exempt from this rule. The unsafe use of personal electronic transport devices, as determined by the competition officials and management in their sole discretion thtat do not require a driver’s license to operate, including but not limited to segways, hoover boards, and single wheeled scooters is prohibited on competition grounds. Operating such devices in areas where people gather may be deemed “unsafe use” if there is a risk of harm to others. If the operator of the device is a minor, the parent/lega guardian or individual who sign the entry blank as a parent or guardian of a minor operating the device in violation of this rule is accountable and may be subject to penalties. Wheelchairs and other mobility assistance devices for individuals with disabilities are exempt from this rule
INDEMNITY AND NON RESPONSIBILITY CLAUSE:
New Jersey Horse Association, The Horse Park of New Jersey, the Show Committee, Show Manager, Show Secretary, and Officials accept no responsibility for the loss or destruction of any property or equipment not owned by them or for any damage to animals on exhibition on these grounds or stabling area. All horses shall be under the control and direction of the Show Committee but solely at the risk of the exhibitor, who will be responsible for any loss, damage, or injury to any person, animal or property occasioned by him, his agents or employees, or by any animal owned or exhibited by him and shall indemnify the NJHAHA, The Horse Park of New Jersey, the Show Committee, the Show Manager, the Show Secretary and Officials against any and all loss, damages and liability thus occasioned, including attorney fees, which may be incurred as a result thereof. The submitting of an entry form to the show secretary shall constitute an acceptance by the person signing of the provisions set forth.
